A Refined White Sugar

Refined white sugar, also known as granulated sugar or table sugar, is a highly purified sweetener made from sugarcane or sugar beets, used commonly in cooking and baking. It consists of at least 99.8% sucrose and has had most or all of its natural molasses removed during processing. 

• Purity and Appearance: It is known for its pure white color and high purity, typically with a very low ICUMSA color value (around 45 ICUMSA maximum), as impurities and molasses have been filtered out.
• Physical Form: It has a uniform, free-flowing crystalline structure, with the most common type being medium to fine granulation, similar to table salt.
• Versatility: Due to its neutral, clean sweet taste and consistent quality, it is the most versatile sugar for general household and industrial use. It is widely used in:
  • Sweetening beverages: Coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
  • Baking and Confectionery: Cakes, cookies, pastries, icings, and frostings, where it provides structure and a crisp texture.
  • General Cooking: Jams, sauces, and savory dishes for added flavor.
